AREA BURST OF GERMAN AA SHELLS

The following data on the area of burst of some of the standard German antiaircraft shells have been obtained from a reliable source:

     Caliber of Shell    Burst Along Line of Flight    Burst Laterally
         20-mm                33 to 43 feet             10 to 23 feet
         37-mm                33 to 66 feet             36 feet
         88-mm                39 feet                   98 feet
